Lead volume is one of the most important numbers to understand before joining a team with a company lead system, and one of the numbers most likely to get overstated in a recruiting conversation. Here is the honest version of how it works, starting with the ceiling.
The Ceiling: Up to 20 Leads a Month
Agents at Power have the opportunity to receive up to 20 leads a month. That is a performance-based ceiling, not a guaranteed floor. The number moves with an agent's conversion performance and capacity.
How Zillow Volume Is Maintained
Most of Power's company lead flow comes through Zillow. Power is a Zillow Preferred Partner and holds a separate Zillow account for each of its four markets, Orange County, LA County, Riverside County, and the High Desert, pulling close to a thousand leads a month across all four. Those leads get distributed to agents based on performance.
Zillow's standard conversion benchmark is 5%, meaning an agent is expected to close one deal out of every 20 leads. Agents who hold that rate can expect up to 20 opportunities a month on an ongoing basis. Agents who convert above it can receive more. Agents who fall below it see their volume adjusted down.
When you first start on Zillow at Power, you receive up to 20 leads in that first month. After that, your volume tracks your results.
Why Busy Agents Take Fewer Leads
Something interesting happens as agents at Power build their business. As they get busier, more active clients, more deals in pipeline, more escrows running at once, many of them intentionally take fewer leads.
The reason is conversion quality over volume. An agent already working 12 active client relationships cannot give each of 20 new leads the response speed and follow-up that converts them. Spreading too thin lowers conversion rates, which in turn reduces lead flow over time. Power's experienced producers calibrate their intake to what they can convert, not just what they can receive.
That reframes the real question. "How many leads do I get?" matters less than "How many leads can I convert?" The agents building consistent volume at Power are the ones asking the second one.
The Honest Picture
If every agent at Power converted one new opportunity a day, the team's production numbers would be extraordinary. That is not the reality across the whole team today, and the honest version beats the oversold one. Lead volume tracks performance: agents who show up, follow the scripts, respond fast, and work their pipeline in Follow Up Boss consistently see consistent lead flow.
The system delivers real opportunities. What an agent does with them is the variable that matters most.

Twenty leads a month is the opportunity. What you build from it is up to you.
